Sauder Village

40th Annual Quilt Show

Debbie Wick with her

Maggie Grace's Garden Quilt

Designed by Di Ford-Hall

The quilt show was absolutely beautiful!  I was so happy to win a "Blue Ribbon" for all my hand stitching!  I had always wanted to make an English paper pieced hexagon quilt.  When I discovered Di Ford-Hall's Maggie Grace's Garden, I fell in love with her design and began working on my quilt in October 2014.  I designed my own color scheme of old-fashioned reds, greens, and creams, even fussy cutting some of the fabrics!  It took over a year to make!  There are approximately 318 berries!  In October 2015, I had the honor of meeting Di Ford-Hall from Australia where she signed a special label for my quilt!  I have made many friends who volunteer many hours in preparation of one of the largest quilt shows in the Midwest.  I grew up in the small town of Holgate, Ohio, and went to school in Archbold, Ohio, my junior and senior years of high school.  It is only a few miles from Sauder Village.  I am home now in Elmira, New York, thinking of my hand quilting designs for my entry for next year!
